Filler schmiller.

Because a felt boat's always a good idea.

Labor Day means red, white, and blue -- and one last BBQ.  So I donned my polka dot frock and enjoyed festive fare with my family.  The best thing on the table?  My mom's tomato pie.  Probably because it was bursting with, not only tomatoes and cheese, but mayonnaise and sour cream.  So, hearty enough for the hardest-working laborer, not to mention decadence in a dish.

As for Charlotte, she focused on the fruit, as per usual.  I've never seen anyone get so excited about oranges and blueberries. Watching her glee is my favorite thing.

Still, she'd better not get any ideas about me baking a pie.

Red, White, and Rainbow: When Stripes are the Stars

The wheel deal.

Top: Wild Fable, Target

Bag: INC, Macy's

The husband's shirt: IZOD, Kohl's

Whenever I try to wear red, white, and blue, I always end up overpowering the white with yellow.  Because, as I once said to a fellow (bewildered) preschooler, no drawing is complete without sunshine.  And what's an outfit, after all, if not a 3D illustration?  So, I added a shot of vitamin D -- and C! -- to my Fourth of July fits.  I carried my lemon wedge bag to Smithville on the actual holiday, then my rainbow-chain, yellow bag to the family BBQ later that weekend.  It definitely boosted my mood.  Even if I did drop a dollop of sunscreen on the lemon on its inaugural outing.

Still, safety first, am I right?  Because despite being cheerful, the sun will burn you to a crisp. 😏🌞

Just kidding.  Glam is never a gamble, and I'll never draw a line in the sand when it comes to a desert motif.

So in the tradition of the laconic cowboy (and Forrest Gump), that's all I have to say about that.
