That's right.  I said what I said.  But you should know me well enough by now to get that it's the unofficial end of summer I'm spurning and not the celebration of America's workforce.  Labor Day is the New Year's Eve of summer.  A little over-hyped and a lot melancholy, it marks a seasonal transition no one wants to make.  And that's why, in my own quirky way, I make the most of it with fashion photography.

These fits are from the long weekend, which included my parents' BBQ, a trip to the bank, and hanging around the house.  Which is not at all like "sitting around the house" from Better Than Ezra's "Good," and not just because that song references the Fourth of July instead of Labor Day, but because with  Charlotte, there's not much sitting.

That said, this last pic was, appropriately, taken today on the actual holiday.  After a day out, it was time to stay in, and I spent most of it, not in this nautical-slash-ice-cream-themed getup, but in my nightgown.

It's what the laborers would've wanted.

Oh, such smashing colors! You both look so beautiful. Yes, its all these beautiful colors that keep her so alert! Go you! Love the floral and the check. Your post made me smile. I love your content! So sweet! Yes, I hang out in my pjs all the time at home. Now you understand how I lose my bra so easily! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Thanks so much for including Charlotte. So beautiful you guys are!💕💛🍎🍏❤️💛🍎☀️We did have a nice cookout with everyone. We have been on the brink of unease lately, thinking some might go their separate ways, but we were all together and plenty to eat. I made a last minute Tang Pie..because Tang was all I had and some cream cheese and a graham cracker crust that should have been used on Memorial Day. And it was a hit! We also had a Barbie emergency. Someone's favorite Barbie (Tinsel and rainbow hair Barbie) had her arms eaten off by the pup..although, Jewel just looks like one..she is almost 2. She's so cute..but she is a diseater waiting to happen..even during our back yard feast, she almost got away with a steak! So I had to rebody here (MTM) and combing the hair is a still ongoing task. And somebody's Slim Ken (his favorite) will have to be replaced, too. That 5 dollar doll from 5 Below..is now twenty on Amazon.

I adore your Labor Day outfit!! So festive and fun. Your other two outfits are the perfect way to say adieu to summer, especially with the ice cream and nautical theme! Lastly, the photo of you and Charlotte is so adorable and sweet. And you're definitely right; spending the rest of the holiday in your nightgown is what "the laborers would've wanted"! ❤️🍦💙 (P.S. - totally love the song "Good"!)

Charlotte's outfit is adorable with her red socks and blue pants! She its her mother's daughter. What a treat to see a close up of her - she is absolutely precious. Labor Day weekend signals end of summer for school kids as they all get ready to return to school this week. Your parents must be thrilled with Charlotte! So nice you were able to get together for a BBQ and then have a day in your PJ's at home.
