Something New and Sparkly: Get Gorgeous

Fabulous Felt Perfume Necklace

Fabulous Felt Pink Bow Necklace

A tease with the comb, a squirt of hairspray, the knotting of a pretty pink bow, and a cloud of perfume to walk (or dare I say glide?) through once the last lock has been charmed into place. What more could a girl want? A big, rhinestone-bedecked piece of felt dangling around her neck, of course. :)

Your felt necklets simply blow me away, this time, especially the hairdryer one! Tell me, how did you get your start? What got you interested in your craft initially? *with giant bowl of popcorn in hand, pulls up over-stuffed ottoman and makes self "tah home"* I'm all ears; SHOOT!

Hi, Sparkle! It's always nice to hear a compliment about my work, especially the felt necklaces:) To answer your question, I've always been into arts and crafts. I took lots of art classes as a kid (after I proved to be a disaster at dance lessions :). I've also always loved accessories, things that are quirky, and lots and lots of color. So, I started crafting in earnest again a few years ago, beginning with more conventional (beaded) jewelry and scenic-themed painted totes. But it seemed like the more things I made, the more out there my ideas became, and I just sort of went with it. I realized I could use almost anything to make jewelry. I particularly love the crayon box brights of felt and the way it can be cut into bold, graphic shapes to create just about any design imaginable! I keep a running list of necklaces I want to create in the future; just when I think I've finished I come up with something else. Thanks so much for asking :) I'll head on over to Sparkle Farkle land now to see what's new.
