As you can see, I've finally, (insert groan-slash-drum-cymbal-sound), fallen for fall.  I started out in sandals and ended up in boots.  Just yesterday, I was getting dressed to go out to buy beads when I realized that the purple LC Lauren Conrad dress I'd planned to wear (and that'd been waiting in my closet all summer) would be little comfort against the cool air.  No matter; I just layered my trusty black and white pin dot turtleneck underneath it!  It too is from Kohl's, and I've had it for fifteen years.  I distinctly remember buying it along with two pairs of l.e.i. jeans (who else had those?), one red, one royal blue.  The jeans are long gone, but the turtleneck remains a true blue outfit saver.

Anyway, autumn often means prairie skirts and dresses, and I had fun making the most of both.  It was also good to finally bust out two unworn Jessica Simpson pieces, namely a top I ordered from Belk's and shoes I got free from DSW.  Well, they were free in the sense that I used my Rakuten rewards to buy them.  Which isn't really free, since I had to spend to get the rewards in the first place.  Still, it was nice to slip on the patchwork-print peau de soie pumps with my green POPSUGAR dress knowing that they were a "gift" I got for shopping.

And now that I've babbled on about my wardrobe ad nauseum, it's time to explain what I'm sitting on.  It's a bench -- complete with sliding doors for storage -- that the husband made for a customer!  He's since moved it from our office to its new home, and the customer was so impressed that she thought the husband bought it.  I was a little affronted by that and said I should've taken video of him slaving away at it so we could send it to her.  But the husband felt no need to provide such proof.  A calm soul through and through, he just took the compliment.

I'm sure Pa Ingalls would've done the same.

Oh, Pa would be so proud! Love the bench! Such amazing dresses. So inspiring! Glad you found all those boots. Hope you have lots of warm days ahead. Such beautiful floral! Love the post!πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—Thanks for your comments!I wish I could watch more dramas, but I have other things to do. Oh, as we go deeper into October, one wonders if we will have time for everything. But then again, that last week is meant for Halloween and then time to move on. Wishing you a beautiful October. And yes, I am enjoying the long sweatshirt I thrifted this weekend.

These are such amazing outfits! Love this prairie look! Oh, it's like Little House in the City! Sounds like a great new show! What a great idea! I love the idea of this bench! So many wonderful bags and bobbles you have. You wear them so well!❤️πŸ–€πŸπŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•Of course, I liked the idea of Tristan knowing Nonnie. I have had so many different ideas of how to bring her into the story. And then there is Ali who is a certain breed who wants to be loved and yet won't let anyone near. Which I think is the case with the individual I know from the library. Wishing, you a very fine October! All the best to your creativity!

So exciting to see this post! Beautiful outfits! You are so inspiring! Love these florals! Oh, some beautiful boots too. Naturally, I love the Granny Square bag! It makes me wonder if I could take a small bag from 5 Below and embellish it with granny squares. Of course, this takes a very long thought process for me. I have managed to take the bill off an old cap and then I took the fabric off the bill to hopefully create the hat I saw on the drama I watched. Now if I just didn't hesitate so much..and just do it. πŸ’•πŸπŸ–€❤️πŸ’—πŸ¦‹☕πŸ‚Thanks so much for your comments. It seemed this was a month for some of the characters to grow. Maybe. And to find out what Brooklyn is actually having to deal with, too. Although, I feel no matter hold we are we have that sense we are so alone. But then to realize we do have friends is of course something you can nurture or not. Naturally, of course, the strangest is probably Alfie. But I feel he sees himself as OK although, he's not. Thanks again for reading and thanks for your comments!

Oh, such beautiful photos! I love your take on the prairie skirts and such! So lovely! Such great tops too! You definitely accentuate the positive! πŸ‚πŸ☕πŸ’• Oh, Fan..well..she is a bit like someone I know. Who I don't think would have anymore kids. But I think she's probably more cozy now with someone than she ever was when she was creating a family. And yes, she really wants her kids to have grandkids, and I can just see her wanting something like that. Yes, they are quite a wayward family, but of course, I enjoy writing about them. Of course, Cara isn't her real daughter and yet they are possibly more alike than Fan is with her own daughter.

I never cease to be amazed at how you can turn something relatively plain into something over the top gorgeous! The belts are particularly wonderful. I've never seen anyone wear two, but you make it work.

What beautiful outfits!!! I especially love the black top with the built-in choker, and the gloves you wore to accessorize! The yellow floral skirt is so strikingly beautiful. The fall foliage barrettes look super cute and fitting for the season! The prairie vibes of your dresses are so flattering and the patchwork bag looks great with the lavender dress. And the cactus and strawberry barrette pairing is such an eye-catching look! Yay for acquiring your Rakuten gift - it's always nice to get those kinds of rewards. Last but not least, the bench your husband made is truly a masterpiece. I love that you posed on it for your photos!
