Taking a Bite Out of Birthdays: Happy Forty-First to the Husband

Yesterday was the husband's birthday.  The celebration started on Saturday, with a party at my parents'.  My mom decorated this adorable birthday tree and found the coolest candle for the cake.

Sunday was all about recovering from the carbs while re-watching parts of Step Brothers.  At night, we ventured out to the Luminocity Festival in Atlantic City to see these dynamite dinos:

Yes, it was a prehistoric playground intended for kids.  But we got a kick out of it.  And it was certainly more our speed than hitting the clubs like we would've fifteen years ago.

A night in AC doesn't mean what it used to, but we're more than okay with that.

Because truth be told, we've both always been a little more kindergartner than club kid.

Sounds like a fun celebration for your husbands birthday. I had those candles once for a birthday - Did it play music too? The illuminated dinosaur show looks amazing and I like the photo of your husband popping out of a dinosaur egg. You shot some really good photos! Happy Birthday to your husband!

How fun! Adoring those photos. And such a fun cake and party! What a great time! Love seeing the post πŸ’•πŸ’—πŸ’•πŸ’—πŸ’•>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Thanks so much for your comments! Oh, Matty and Val..yes, unfortunately, lately we have been losing records right and left at doctor appointments. A lot of times they have no idea what medications I am on and they have a file with them.

Well, I made myself a birthday cake. It was a cake recipe from WW2 it doesn't have eggs but it's chocolate with peanut butter icing.

Oh, such a wonderful festival you guys went to. I so adore your weekend! Happy Birthday Weekend! Such great photos. Looks like you guys had a blast! I am so adoring this post! Great outfit you are wearing too. πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’— About Shelly and the Miles/Mia thing..when she had that dream about the bookstore owner who had actually introduced her to Miles when she was like 11 or so..she remembered why Mia looked so familiar to her..even if Mia kept insisting they'd met in college. And I can't tell you how many people on staff can't stand Where the Crawdads Sing. Actually, I took a spin from what one of the staff was saying about it. They feel it's too farfetched for it's own good. Yet, my friend from PA loved it..her mother even loved it more and she only ready literary books.

Oh my gosh, how fun!!! First off, the birthday decorations and that cake look fabulous! That is the neatest candle for a cake I've ever seen. The Luminocity Festival looks like it was a blast; I love how your husband added humor to the photos with his poses (looking cold, petting the sabertooth tiger, being born out of the egg, LOL!!!) Your cute outfit fits perfectly with your neon surroundings, too! And I totally get it; I've always been a little more kindergartner than club kid myself. :)

Such great pictures you guys took. Looks like a great place to visit at night. Awesome Birthday weekend! You might as well celebrate all of August! I know I find myself making more plans with this friend and that. Although, at the same time, I feel I should stay home too.πŸ’–πŸ’•πŸ’–πŸŒŸThanks so much for your comments!

Oh, I hope you guys are still having some fun. That is so great about the dinosaur park! I remember someone in our family who could hardly wait for the dinosaur exhibit at the Children's Museum, but the day we went he had a screaming fit when he saw the "live" dinosaurs. It was just too much for someone 3 who thought he was going on 33. So at this rate maybe he will actually have better luck seeing the dinosaurs in his 30's. Thanks for your comments. I know I was all over the place in my Wednesday's post, but I was in total shock how there were so many "Heaven's Official Blessing" series that were out on display at the Half-Price Bookstore in the New Reads section. And they aren't religious books but from my understanding its based on the characters from the Untamed drama. Of course, it's a certain kind of Chinese fantasy that I still might need a companion book to explain it all to me. As for "Stranded" yes, I have a feeling I might be the only one writing about my characters. Honestly, these "roleplays" have so many rules and regulations that it takes the fun out of writing it. Usually, the person who wants to start a group up never even starts a real contest. Also there will be more "Q&A" from my couples round (I've posted some of these couples interviews. Most are characters from my storyblogs, but I have made a few random couple ones too..along the way. Mostly for examples... yet for the so called contest it is more or less anything goes (almost) that's on the 'collage site'. It's funny, how people want to do these role plays but they never really get around to doing them. πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–Thanks for your comments!
