This Fresh Breath Barrette Brooch is an homage to the super colorful, striped Aquafresh toothpaste I coveted as a kid.  Even if the dentist visit freebie toothpastes I used to style it are Crest and Pronamel.  I guess the dental community regards Aquafresh about as highly as my mom circa 1987.

Thankfully, when I'm playing dress up, I've got the full range of the rainbow at my disposal.  So, I broke out tie-dye, plaid, and stripes bold enough to scare the mauve off a hygienist's scrubs.  In particular, the turquoise of my bamboo bag brings back memories of the Sparkle Crest I once so loved and, yes, was allowed to use.  It tasted a little like bubblegum and made my bedtime ritual feel as enchanted as Cinderella's.  Post prince, of course.  When Cindy was still an indentured servant, I imagine that she had gingivitis to rival Godzilla's.

So, thanks, Mom.  For the Sparkle Crest.  And all the My Favorite Muffins that made it so necessary.

I so love that jumper! & the tie-dye..right up my ally. I recently found tie-dye bicycle shorts in red, white and blue. I'm not sure if I will totally display them anywhere, but I like them. Um, I shall confess I did have a really bad case of gingivitis. The dentist had never seen anything like it before so I ended up at a specialist who didn't take insurance...he was that special and wanted to charge me way too much and he didn't know what it was under my upper lip. So finally, I went to the dentist in my neighborhood who didn't charge half as much and he didn't make me feel I had cancer. So have some in office cut they sent it off..and low and behold..you guessed it and they didn't nothing to help get rid of it so I looked into good old Crest Gum Detoxify and after a few months it went away.
Oops..sorry I wrote a novel....but remember brush those teeth at least twice a day!

Thanks so much for your wonderful comments. Maybe one day I will get around to writing about Bom and Joon once again.

Hope you have a wonderful 4th with family and friends.

Oh, so colorful! & you put together splendid. I don't think Katy Perry could do it this well. Love your art piece. The backstory made me smile. About those muffins...makes me think how my mother told my little brother he could start making his own in middle school, and he did, but I think he takes better care of his teeth than the rest of us. I am always intrigued with the plaids you find and other treasures too. I will admit I fell in love all over again with the Breeder's Driving on nine. I have to admit I do like a good simple backwater song from time to time. There was a simple Daniel Johnston (I think) song that was in My So Called Life soundtrack..which I so adored. Actually, I don't like country music yet I am more folk or even anti-folk at times. Thanks so much for your comments. Have a wonderful 4th!

Such a fun post. And adoring your wardrobe. So inspiring with such fun pieces!

It has been hard writing about "Melvin" and how each and everyone feels about him. Possibly, it's a little bit of my 'fangirl' relationship with Harry Styles. I don't know how many times he's inspired characters for me and yet I like them all better than actually Harry Styles. That must sound strange. Many moons ago "Henry" showed up in my Ellie story blog. Although, he was somebody else's boyfriend (His boyfriend got a girl pregnant) and he ended up feeling he was the better friend to that girl. Of course, I really don't write much about Henry anymore. Oddly, I must actually enjoy writing India Eisley and Harry Styles fan fic because they keep ending up together or not. Although, I just think of them inspiring interesting characters.

That is the most creative barrette EVER!!! It is seriously so cute with the little stripes of color and stars. What an homage to dental care! It totally matches the colors of the Oral B packaging. I always loved the color of Aquafresh, too! I'm loving the tie dye looks and the stripes and plaid ensemble - the barrette is definitely the cherry on top! 😃 I also really love the squares on the Delia's bag. ❤️ You totally rock the bright colors!

That blue bag is so retro 80s, everything comes back around. And I love that pink and blue stripe bangle.
