This isn't a rant about the importance of uncompromised produce in an increasingly GMO world. It's just an account of a Sunday at our local farm stand. Even if the husband's the one selecting the choicest tomatoes and peaches while I pose by the flowers. To be sure, my sleepy stare and bedhead hair (just add a bow!) reveal that I've once again traded slumber for cucumbers and marigolds. But I'm jumping for joy on the inside at the thought of fresh garlic bread and tomatoes. Also, for the chance to wear my Enlightened Elephant Necklace, which I made ages ago but listed only yesterday. Bold yet simple, it reminds me that happiness is less complicated than we make it.
Also that I should've gotten a shot of the awesome elephant ears. ππ

When I was a kid, it was great to eat tomatoes in the summer, they had a different taste, but now tomatoes are never what we want, even for sauces.
Such a great dress for the farmer's market! Such a wonderful market too. All the best to your beautiful necklace too. Glad you made it to the market!ππ§ππΈππ§πΈππΈππ§ We have been having a few showers in the morning as of late, but it still gets so hot and muggy. Oh, it is interesting to explore male friendships. I don't think it's ever easy to get anyone's advice on relationships, while there are some who will tell you how it is. Usually, those are strangers. Of course, Phil is always surprised by Boone, and usually, he's second-guessing himself. Of course, as the month goes on I found another unusual pairing. There was one character I had wanted to bring in for some time, but wasn't sure if I should, but hey we all need friends even in fiction.π§π§π§π§π§Thanks again for being here and enjoy all those fruits and veg from the Farmer's market!
I so love this sun dress! Everything is better with a bow on it! Love the elephant ear necklace too! Looks like you guys found some great veg! Lovely fruit salad and more!ππΈππΈππ§πΈπ Thanks for your comments! Of course, Tristan might be in his own oblivion too, but I see him maturing and keeping his ground. Although, I don't think being around Mona bothers him much. Yet he's bothered, especially by Hoyt. Yes, it's a long hot summer. Thank you so much for your comments. πππππΈπΈπΈπΈI hear Jeopardy is going to go into reruns for a while. I don't know if that hast to do with the writer's and actor's strike or not.
Oh, so lovely! Maybe you guys need to find an afternoon Farmer's market. We have one of those. Although, we can never remember what day it's on. Although, I haven't gone to the Old Market's Farmer's Market in ages. It is getting expensive to even park in the old part of Omaha these days. It seems the festivals they used to have there have been moved to a nearby burb. I am not sure if that's progress. ππππππ Such beautiful necklaces! So glad you wore the necklace to the Farmer's Market. All the best to have it on the market too! I hear we are in for a long hot week of weather the last week in July.π§πΈπ§πΈπ§πΈπ§Thanks for your comments. I am finding if I am even looking for Barbie clothes it is sometimes better to buy the doll with the outfit. So, it just keep multiply. But I have made a few clothes to. It's just getting it done can sometimes be my biggest challenge.
Going to the local farms or farmers markets is my favorite early Saturday morning adventure. GMO produce is a problem and everyone should be more aware of its implications! I do love your necklace. Enjoy all you fresh produce!
You look fabulous posed by the flowers (that you match!!) The Enlightened Elephant Necklace is beautiful, and so are the necklaces in the group photo! Lastly, how fun to see shots of produce being picked and prepared to eat. It is soooo true that "happiness is less complicated than we make it"! And who can resist fresh garlic bread and tomatoes? π
That elephant charm is very unusual.
