For months, I saw SHEIN listings pop up in my Pinterest feed without knowing what SHEIN even was.  Then Samantha over at The Big Hair Diaries posted some super cute clothes she got from the site, and I was like, okay, I'm listening.  By the time my sister ordered a bunch of costume jewelry from the very same and was singing its praises, I knew I couldn't wait any longer.  I had to check it out.

So onto the Internet I went, and there. was. so. much. stuff!  The sheer volume of barrettes, bags, bangles, etc. (because, yes, as always, accessories were my prime destination) was nearly sensory overload.  But I gritted my teeth and dug my heels in and told myself, you will persevere.  And I did and scored this stuff:

Everything was incredibly affordable; the whole haul totaled just over fifty dollars, which was enough to qualify for free shipping.  Plus, Rakuten gave me five percent cashback, which, as always, was an excellent bonus.  I'm so happy with everything, especially the cherry and strawberry heart barrettes I'm wearing with the second outfit.  SHEIN is such a fun place to shop!  It reminds me of a store on the boardwalk, or a flea market stall with the kinds of funky finds that I always imagined but never found.  I'll definitely be back.  Thanks for the tip, Samantha!

And now, on to the handmade portion of our program.  I really surprised myself with this Red Confection Affection Necklace:

I've had these puffy fabric "hard" candies for ages; I used to use them to make barrettes.  But then the other night, I thought, what if I used one in a necklace?!  I wasn't sure if the jump rings would support it on the chain, but lo and behold, it worked!  I'm so psyched about how this necklace turned out that I may make some others.

And then buy more barrettes to match. :)

In love with the Confection Affection Necklace! Wow! exciting. Oh, and love your SHEIN haul as well. I've been tempted to buy from there, but I have been afraid too..so yeah, it's great to know that you have found some good deals there.

There had been a point beanie I had looked at, which I guess isn't really trending anymore. It looked more like something the Canadian's wear but not as wintery. At the end of this movie "Heart Beats" my favorite movie which is French Canadian the French dude shows up at a party with a similar beanie. Of course, he did look silly but then again it was an "out there" kind of movie.

I had two days off, but now I work the weekend...ugh..hopefully, it will go well. I did have a chance to actually buy "resin" for my rocks. This time I'm going for acrylic paints. And I won't put them outside. I am thinking now that's why rocks have been left on our driveway. I left a few painted rocks in he flower bed and they are finally gone. Of course, I'm not much of an artist, but maybe someone liked them.

Thank you! Oh, Vanna...A friend of mine's parents split up and it's been revenge ever since. She had raised his daughter and the daughter was getting married and was so devastated that they practically ruined her wedding...it was so on and off. I'm not sure if they ever got married.

So will you be going to any craft shows to sell your treasures this coming fall?

Yes, there are a lot of things I like about SHEIN and it seems they have taken in a few other brands as of late too. They are definitely going strong!

Oh, this week I found out some horrible news about someone I used to work with. Well, not about her but about her 30 something daughter who was a caregiver. Of course, this lead to of course, a certain character I'm writing about.

Believe me, if anybody can get people wrong..it's me. I think back to fifth grade when I was at horse camp and I so adored talking to this one person..who I thought was a boy. Next thing I know "He" is following me into the dressing room at the pool and I am like in complete shock..He was a she.

So I know over the years I have met plenty of odd people at the library, but still we always find lots to talk about..when it comes to music, movies and books. Of course, they do inspire me!

Thank you so much for reading and commenting. Yesterday, my laptop when black..out of the blue. Talk about having a meltdown I text Microsoft, got in their website..they were no help. Of course. Then a friend said her husband could look at the laptop after five. Finally, when I went back to the screen shot, Microsoft said..Updating...anyway, it's back to being OK. Thankfully. I kept thinking..I have to get to Frankie...

Hope your weekend is full of fun! Thanks again!

Such a cool necklace! This is so great! Amazing outfits too! Adoring the floral. I found a five dollar tee shirt dress in periwinkle. Hopefully, I will be cool enough in it at work. Working with my director is like being in a restrictive area.

So love your fashion! Oh, I bet this necklace sales like hot cakes!

Thanks so much for your comments. I so appreciate you being here. It makes me enjoy my interviewing even more....And I have been having more fun to "Faceclaims" Although, it turns out more and more as just a very short something.

You look so cute and summer-y in your blossoms and berries. My favorites: the sundress from Target and the Betsy Johnson shoes! I'm intrigued with your haul from Shein - my hair is short and I don't usually wear hair accessories BUT the grandaughters ages 13 and 10 would probably LOVE it.. It's always uplifting to visit your blog posts. I love all the designs and colors.

aaaaaaaaaghhh!!!! Where do I even begin here?! First of all, your shoutout to me made my entire day, so thank you so much for that!!! You are so welcome for the tip! 😃 I am so happy to hear that you made the journey over to SHEIN and found a haul of stuff you love! It's certainly a beautiful photo of what you got - so many brilliant colors! I love the affordability and the super cuteness of stuff on SHEIN. Happy SHEIN shopping! Your outfits are darling; I truly love the purple barrette in your hair in the first one! The socks totally add an ultra cute touch, as do your accessories. The yellow top and skirt is so pretty - love those florals and the pop of red accessories! The blue and pink floral dress is gorgeous and I love how you matched the flower with it in your hair. Last but not least, your new Confection Affection Necklace is kawaii-cuteness to the max! The stars definitely remind me of candy. I look forward to future ones like this that you make!!

I've heard of Shein, and there's an Aussie version but it doesn't seem to have items like this. How awesome is it when you can get a load of goodies on the cheap with free ship on the side.
