Daisies and sunflowers are a sweet way of saying that summer's on its way out. Kind of like a grave blanket made of balloons. Or TV Land's Younger.
For seven seasons, Darren Star's comedy about a forty-year-old woman passing for twenty-six to break back into publishing made fighting the beast that is ageism fun. Yet this summer, editor extraordinaire Liza Miller (Sutton Foster) finally gets her own happy ending. With all the stress (and sadly, sick twentysomething style) of her ruse behind her, Liza takes on New York with nothing to hide. If you're a fan (or a super fan who subscribed to the new Paramount streaming service to watch early, unlike yours truly), then you already know if she rode off into the sunset on a motorcycle with hot young tattoo artist Josh (Nico Tortorella) or in a Town Car with suave peer and Empirical Publishing CEO Charles (Peter Hermann).
Yet it's not Liza's beau, but her boundless optimism, love for books, and light-hearted humor that make her so charming -- and once upon a time, the most likable liar in Gotham. (As in all good love stories, it's the guy who gets this that gets her.) Bolstered by lifetime bestie Maggie (Debi Mazar) and coworker Kelsey (Hilary Duff), Liza has always made hustling look easy. Even back when she was dealing with her prickly, ginormous-necklace-wearing boss Diana (Miriam Shor), high-maintenance authors, and her lack of social media savvy. Because underneath all the glitz and glam, Younger is about a pioneer bucking the system.
So here's to staying young and in an eternal summer state of mind. Not to be confused with an Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
That's a story with far different feels.

Oh, I do love sunflowers! Love those outfits and the Princess Leia doo too! It's feelin fallish here! Finally! Thanks for the review! Thanks for your comments too!
I've heard of Younger but yet to watch it.... I always love Sutton!
Cool rustic necklace.
Oh, my pet rocks were more of a way to get rid of nail polish than anything. But I miss those days gathering in our so-called large room at the library with young and old a like to do a little crafting. It was good to meet all sorts of people, and I could see so many really needed to gather just to paint a rock.
Oh, I am in love with all these florals! Wonderful outfits..such happiness!
And thanks for the wonderful review too.
It is interesting how many "Oh this is sad.." comments I got about LaLa, the sex doll and Roman. I was not expecting that. Sometimes, I never know..but the story goes on..
I have been reading Hello Girls that Emily co-authored with Brit Cavallero. A lot of teenage angst. But I have to admit I like New Adult Summer Job better about a 30 something londoneer posing as her best friend by Lizzy Dent.
Such fun to read your review! Lovely fashion moments too. So many cool bags and other accessories, but I love those florals too! I hope you are having a fine September. I am finally getting around to watch The Time We Were Not In Love (2015) K-drama. Although, I have always been fond of the ML..he's just making me furious in this drama. Also older dramas really seem to take their sweet time letting anything happen. But there is some book his character keeps going back to "The One-Eyed Fish". Yes, one mystery after another that only somebody like me would pick up on. It's terrible when you think, oh He's such a great actor when all along..oh, I just liked looking at him. Sometimes, I wonder if I am that way with books too.
P.s..thanks so much for your wonderful and insightful comments.
P.s..one more tidbit I found..about the whole Chinese Entertainment industry. They are having a crackdown on their popstars..no more "Sissy Idols" ...which the faceclaim Mario in my Caitlin & Megan story is one of these stars... Zhang Zhehan, who was an up-and-coming actor under Zhao's agency, was revealed in August - around the time of the anniversary of Japan's defeat in World War II - to have visited the Yasukuni Shrine in Tokyo in 2018.
The shrine, which commemorates Japan's war dead, including war criminals, is a highly sensitive and potent symbol of Japan's wartime legacy and a flashpoint for tensions in East Asia, in particular with China. Zhang was promptly booted out of the country's entertainment industry.
The daisies and sunflower look is a perfect end-of-summer send off!!! Your black hat with the sunflower theme is like both a nod to summer and to fall (the hat is wonderfully bewitching!) Your sunflower black dress with your cool hairstyle and barrettes is fantastically 90's and fun! And that BEE BARRETTE...so darn cute!!! And fitting to buzz around your sunflowers, to boot! Lastly, your TV show review was a great read; I love what you said here: "So here's to staying young and in an eternal summer state of mind." So true, and life really is all about your state of mind! ❤️ And you will definitely be forever young!
Daisies and sunflowers are such a great theme and you look stunning in all those fabulous outfits. My favorites are the yellow shoes and the daisy sundress- but truthfully there isn't anything in this. post I didn't like.I'll have to look into that TV series - sounds interesting.
You have such a great sense of style! I love everything that you’re wearing. So colorful and summery.. Any one of these outfits would make a great entrance no matter where you go.
Love those coloured wedges.
I didn't get into Younger because the premise just seemed a bit stupid, but as an author, maybe I should have to see how they showed the world of publishing.
