Something New and Sparkly: Easter Flowers

Dress: Olsenboye, JCPenney
Camisole: Marshalls
Shoes: Alloy
Bag: Candie's, Kohl's
Tights: Hue, Macy's

I took a break from the JELL-O to make this Fabulous Felt Spring Flowers Barrette and nameless necklace to wear for Easter.  (As always, I made two barrettes, one to wear and one to sell.  Although I've said it before, it bears repeating that I don't wear the hair accessories I post in my shop.  Just in case you were cringing :)  I saw these metal and ceramic floral pendants in Michael's and instantly knew that I wanted to use three of them to make a big statement necklace.  Doing so was a little trickier than usual because I needed to connect the pendants daisy-chain style with three separate sections of wrapped wire.  It wasn't too difficult, though, and I look forward to making similar necklaces in the future.

Easter turned out to be gorgeous, so I decided to go old school and do a self portrait.  It's funny, but I've gotten so used to the close-up, arty quality of the mannequin (er, Tammy the Torso) shots that I now prefer them to the ones of myself (at least for the purposes of this blog).  Life in plastic, it's fantastic.  Maybe those "Barbie Girl" lyrics were on to something :)

It's good to literally see you again! Your look is so blossomy Easter-sweet! And, suddenly, I feel like rereading The Secret Garden!

The yellow heels are exactly like the pinks ones, right?

Love the necklace!

And yes, you're posting yourself again. I'm just starting to do pics for Instagram, jewels I wore today etc, slowly, but getting into it.
