Resort Report: Message in a Throttle

There's this realtor (I refuse to use Realtor) who sends the husband and me promotional postcards all the time.  We always laugh when we get them.  Why isn't important -- mostly because it may expose us as terrible people -- but also because it has nothing to do with fruit, summer fun, or this story.  Anyway, we got one today, and I was especially happy because the vibrant sailboat image was perfect for the flat lay I was building around my new Tropical Fruit Barrette Brooch.

Picture it.  The sun on your face, the wind -- and this super-strong-not-going-anywhere-even-in-a-gust barrette -- in your hair, a cooler full of fruit (and sandwiches, because sailing makes you hungry and sometimes bananas don't cut it) chilling starboard while "Brandy" (from Looking Glass, not Norwood) blares in the background.  What could be better?

Because a new house is like a vacation is like a new hairpiece.  And I don't mean toupee

Looks like Prince Postcard isn't the only marketing maven.

I love the postcard- it so beach felling. I actually have some collectible vintage post cards from Atlantic City. We mostly get online advertising from realtors such as What's happening in your area"

Oh, I love the title! Beautiful broch! Such a fantastic first picture with the postcard and that amazing shirt!

Postcard..as if buying a house is a vacation..=) & once you are in it..the nightmares might take a while to begin, but when least expected..something goes wrong. Of course, I live in a very old house, too.

Thanks so much for your comment about Declan. Funny, I got a lot of "have a good day" comments. There are people like Declan (gay or not gay). One wonders, are they just a follower and can't think for themselves or they can't help themselves but to think that way. I suppose some stories have hit some sort of climax in August. Hopefully, Simon will think on his own. Also, he's in his own sort of limbo.
Recently, I saw my friend who's Indigenous (lakota-Sioux, but I am not sure if that's exact) and it's funny seeing him now as a husband. He's gained weight yet was sporting the same hairstyle as Fatty Wang from the Lost Tomb series (a modern mohawk ponytail tucked in) (which I am certain he's never watched). Yet from his smile, I can see's happy that he's found this part in life. When he was a kid his mother never let him cut his hair and she homeschooled him because she was afraid he'd get bullied. But I have a feeling J would have never let them make him flinch. He would go on. No matter what.

I am glad your creativity is fabulous as ever. Oh, the cake..well..I went with an Emma recipe..but it didn't turn out quite as good as I'd hoped. What was I thinking. No-bake would have been so much better. Instead, I got a lot of chocolate on me. I know I should bake more. Thus..maybe I would know what I was doing. But it's too hot to bake right now.

Oh, you are the market maven! Love it! I actually got like a fallish-like card from some doctor and his family..telling me it was time to get a new eye prescription. So glad you could include that sailboat postcard! I am hoping the weather has been doing good there. Still a little poor air quality in the air and a thunderstorm..here and there. And the heat and the humidity gives you a clue..don't go out if you don't have to. So just work and home for me. I even did my own manicure.

Hopefully, I'm not too sad with "Caitlin & Megan". Of course, I don't get back to Frankie until September at this rate. Still, I don't think I should post every day. Of course, Cyrus will be a mystery too..but arent' we all...=)

Hope you getting some downtime, too. All the best to your creativity!

Oh, such a fun post! You are so clever! Wonderful broch too!

Um, you are right..I left the Lockdown diary post a little unfinished or unsettling. & I'm truly no mermaid. But more to come on that...hopefully.

Things are getting scary again. If it's not wild fires..it's storms..and if that hasn't touched you then it's COVID. Of course, I had to have a dream other night where everyone was pregnant and everyone was having cats.

The pineapple theme in the first photo is super cool - it's the perfect photo opp! That's a really pretty postcard. The Tropical Fruit Barrette Brooch is fruity fun - the color combinations are really eye-catching against the dark background! You definitely know how to market a sailboat journey with sandwiches, fruit and tunes, by the way!!! The visual was excellent!
