We all know that clothes make me happy.  And when it's summer, my favorite thing to wear is a sundress!  Simple yet stylish, this girlish garment takes me from garden party to seafood swap meet.  Not really, though, because these days I'm usually home.  Also, I would never go to a seafood swap meet (if there even is such a thing).  Although I once went to a farmer's market with a tent full of raw scallops sweating in the June sun.  Nothing like a side of ptomaine to spice up your scampi!  But enough about suspect seafood and nightmare-slash-magazine-spread-style outings.  This post is about my love for the sundress and how it can cure what ails you, no matter how horrific.  Behold my attempt to say so in verse:

Ran into your ex
After bouncing ten checks.
Here comes the sundress.

Broke your new heel
After botching a deal.
Here comes the sundress.

Got stung by a bee
After losing your key.
Here comes the sundress.

Got fired by a jerk
Then saw your mom twerk.
Here comes the sundress.

Ate chocolate goop
That turned out to be poop.
Here comes the sundress.

Blew out a tire
Then started a fire.
Here comes the sundress.

The world tumbles down
And knocks off your crown.
Here is the sundress.

As they say, into each life -- and wardrobe! -- a little rain must fall.  But if the rain is the curveball, then the sundress is the parachute.  You know, like that game in gym class where the gym teacher tosses the multicolored balls inside the big red-and-white-striped parachute and you have to shake the parachute so that the balls bounce around like popcorn.

Hmm.  Maybe that was one metaphor too many.  Still, the sundress is like that parachute, colorful and uplifting, a beacon of hope when you're hurtling through a sky full of vultures.

Rainstorms -- and firings and fires -- don't stand a chance.

Nor does ptomaine.

Oh, such beautiful Sundresses! You do know how to pick them, and such amazing accessories. You are the Queen! Oh, and what fun poetry! Truly, a sundress makes everything better. Oddly, I like to put a sweater on it once Fall is in full throttle. I do love the idea of the sundress being a parachute! We so need that these days.

As always, I love your comments! Thanks for making my day. Yes, I am sure the whole thing with Jory and Rachel is kind of wild. But one never knows when crazy might happen. And as much as I watched soaps when I was a kid, my parents were one adventure after another. And for Val & Matty...hopefully, it was the right move.

Such an uplifting quote and you wear each of these sundresses so well! Bows and all! Just what I needed this Thursday!

Oh, I'm afraid I'm such a downer with the Tori story. But of course, she has Hope and Dylan too. Initially, when I started the Tori character she was just supposed to be Cori's imaginary ex. But then when she really moved in (thanks to Caitlin) she became 'real' from Cori's past. Of course, now she might come off as the demon girl. On the other hand..Caitlin has a lot of men in her life and their names all end in O..honestly, I did not see that coming.

Thanks so much for being here. Thanks so much for your comments. You are always inspiring! All the best to your creativity!

I so love what you said about the sundress! We all need something like a sundress to make us feel pretty! Such an inspiring post. Your poem made me smile!

It's funny about the birthday cake. It was basically a baby cake yet 3 layers. I dunno. I should probably stay away from cakes yet I find the simple science of it..amazing. I should have made a good old yellow cake and made the buttercream frosting. Of course, I should just be cooking veg these days..ugh, someone gave me a bumpy squash that I was so proud of, only I couldn't even cut it open so I tossed it behind the big tree out back..hope the raccoons would know what to do with it, but I kind of doubt it. Honestly, I have been kind of lazy this week with my blogging.

What cute outfits!!!! These sundresses are so darn cute and colorful; the accessories also make them pop (the purses/necklaces/sunglasses) and are the epitome of summer joy. The navy blue with the floral print is my favorite! The cluster of fruit barrettes is...* drum roll *...literally the cherry on top! Also love the cut-outs on the back of that dress. I agree that sundresses really can cure ailments with their amazingness, and your rhymes explain it perfectly! They made me laugh out loud (especially the twerking mom and chocolate/poop line)! Those are some hilarious situations where the sundress swoops in to save the day! ❤️

I do love a good jangle of jewellery and a tropical print.
