Shrek always says better out than in, and maybe sometimes he's right.  Even if he is referring to farting instead of leaving the perimeter of one's yard.  That said, I wore the outfits in this post to actual places, as evidenced by my mostly flat footwear.  This is where I went, in order of outfit appearance:

- Parents' house for my dad's birthday

- Gynecologist

- Dentist (That's why I'm not wearing my usual lipstick, red mouths being frowned upon by the chisel wielders.  Going without it felt weird, ranking this outing below the one to the gyno.  Because although I donned a mask for my stint in the stirrups, I wore my Cherries in the Snow underneath, making the ordeal (slightly) more bearable.)

- Post office

- Bank

Obviously, the highlight was my dad's birthday.  Here's a shot of the presents I wrapped:

And one of my mom's colorful, pre-dinner snacks:

On the craft front, I took these two rose barrettes (well, not these barrettes, as the ones I wear are always dandruff-dusted doppelgangers of the ones I sell), out of The Tote Trove vault.  Which is a fancy way of saying that I reactivated them in my Etsy shop.  I thought, if they're good enough for me to wear, then they might be good enough for someone else.  Because nothing says happy birthday, father quite like fabulous felt.

And finally, I may be the one going places, but my trees are the ones going rogue.  The husband thinks that the palm tree-looking one (actually an oak) in the first pic is the work of seed-spitting squirrels.  And then there's the one in the last pic, extending octopus-like over our hedge.

When I asked if that was also thanks to the squirrels, the husband deadpanned, "No, the raccoons."

Wow- lots of action going on in this post today.. After looking at all of your beautiful summer outfits, I was thinking that you need to have places to go to wear everything. I love the cute sandals with the wedge of lime and the ones with the wedge of watermelon? - Of course I was attracted to the yellow in everything but really love the Kohl's multicolor pink-ish top. The barrettes look stylish and should come out of the archives! Looks like your dad was well remembered and loved for his birthday with the celebration and all the gifts (from you). A pre-dinner appetizer platter is always fun and I love your mom's presentation.

Oh, that last paragraph sounds like what our garden experts are doing to our back yard. It's a jungle out there thanks to the birds, the squirrels and the racoons, but no telling what else has been visiting out there. My friend was telling me how the coyotes came up on her deck. 🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸Such a beautiful last photo of you with those amazing barrets of yours. Such adorable summer-loving wear you have! Sounds like a great time at your parents' and your Dad's birthday. 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 Thanks so much for your comment about the Matty & Val situation. I have heard similar stories from a co-worker or two and other friends. Then I have heard from mothers who would never let their daughters have the vaccine, either. Of course, I have got into complicated situations on women's topics just by asking a question and before I know it I'm hearing someone's whole life story.

Wow, just wow! So glad you are getting to show off some of these summer frocks. Love your creativity on so many levels! Lovely wedges! So stunning! The party sounded so fun. Such great packaging!

Oh, the squirrel story reminds me of the strange dream I just had. Well, it was kind of a strange night. Especially, when it was well after midnight when I went to bed since someone was working at the Riverfest. I stayed home. But that's another story. Of course, in the dream, I could hear something on the roof, but it wasn't at night. I somehow saw a shadow, and thought, "Oh, I hate that squirrel." I could see its shadow through the curtain. When I got to the curtain and pulled it back. There it was. Its head is the size of a human. We both screamed. Don't worry that won't be in any of my stories.🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 I loved pairing up the prom dress with those beautiful Army boots. I remembered a friend who wore army boots with her wedding dress because she was afraid she would fall in high heels. Perhaps Mona will get her man, after all...=)

Such summer fun! LOVE the style! Oh, and the Katy Perry flip-flops! Adoring! Love your collection and of course, those are such amazing barrets too πŸŒΈπŸŒˆπŸ’–

Thanks for your comments. I do enjoy answering those q & a's with my characters. Hopefully, I will get back to the Melissa & Rylie story soon on ELLIE. Although, I am sure I pour in more starts than resolves when it comes to storytelling. I hope your summer is full of cold drinks and popsicles. All the best to your creative adventures too.

What a terrific post!!! The first photo is super cool; that yellow and blue against the bright green scenery is divine. The rose barrettes are stunners! And that purple/pink mesh tank blouse is beautiful. Your accessory photos are so bright and fun; I adore the way you posed the bracelets on your arm, holding your purse on your lap! All of these outfits are so summery and fun. I especially love the blue outfit with the mesh top! The photo pose of you on the stairs is my absolute favorite. Isn't it funny how weird it feels when we go out without something we usually wear on - in this case, lipstick? Lastly, your gift wrapping skills are superb, and the snacks look delish! The final photo of you wearing your barrettes is so gorgeous; the yellow walls surrounding you totally match your top!
