No Wordplay Today: The Title of This Book is Enough

I knew that sooner or later, Colleen Hoover would enter my reading life.  And she did so via the book club when my mom chose It Ends With Us.  I had an inkling of what this novel was about and didn't expect to like it.  But its compelling, complicated story crept into my heart and put up curtains.  I won't say too much (not that most people don't already know the premise, what with its popularity) except this:

It tells two love stories, one beautiful and one nightmarish, leaving the gray in between.

Also, it's not (really) a love story.

I enjoy love stories . I have not read any of her books so I thank you for the review. I think it is so nice that you are in a book club with your mom!!

Colleen's goal is to get everyone reading. Although, I think maybe at our library her popularity has ran it's course. I have heard so many comments from different ages of people about how they loved this and hated that. Yes, I think she is more into domestic fiction. She does have a way of writing history. And I don't always like her characters. I won't say she's my favorite author. πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—Thanks for your comment..I do try to write about happier moments, sometimes, but life is always complicated. P.S. Guy crushes included 🫠

Oh, I'm still in shock! That you guys read this for your bookclub. What an interesting book to discuss! I dunno if I could do it. Although, I do like stories about families..as you can tell and as always there is so much to get tangled up in. I feel that way about Sammie. Yes, she has brother who's too busy to know her who has a busy mother with her own adventures. I was discussing recently about a similar situation and of course, the friend said, that sounds like what my husband went through. Of course, there are so many different views..but in the end you wonder who will take sides. And at the moment Sammie doesn't really have anyone taking up for her.πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—Thanks again for your reviews and your amazing wit. Let's hope you get to read something you really want to read this next time!

It's great to see your on this popular author. Thanks for giving me a smile today. Yes, I totally agree with you! Recently, an old co-worker came in and asked me "Who is this Colleen Hoover? My bartender said I should be reading her." It was so hard not to laugh. Of course, she wanted to read Where the Crawdads Sing. It was in so I went the shelf and got it for her. She'll have to hold off on Colleen's work. πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—Thanks for your comments. I am sure I need to do more research on Beach Houses..especially in the Hamptons. You have to be a certain breed to live there, but I went to the boardwalk there once upon a time when I was much younger and really it is quaint. & I do find Beth interesting too and of course, the black lab, too.
