As you know, Easter is my favorite holiday.  I love the flowers, the food, and the way the world finally wakes up from winter.  And even though I couldn't enjoy the traditional fare of ravioli (I'm Italian 🍝), ham, cheesecake, and chocolate, I went all in on festive fashion by splashing out on a new fascinator.  This one is a departure from my usual tulle-topped, I'm-off-to-the-Kentucky-Derby numbers.  The upturned straw, lace, and huge rose give it a Victorian-meets-'90s-meets-cottagecore feel, which, having sported more than a few Blossom-style chapeaux as a preteen, I loved.  What's more, its bright yellow makes me happy.

That said, I did eat a delicious dinner prepared by my mom, full of beef, veggies, and -- this was a real treat -- cheesy mashed potatoes.  Best of all, the starch didn't affect my glucose.  I'll take my wins where I can get them!

On that note, if you celebrate, then I hope you had a winning Easter too.  And if not, then a winning Sunday.  Because it's nice to know that a smile is just a family meal -- or accessory -- away.

Clearly, impending motherhood is infiltrating my snark with sap. 😏

Such a beautiful Easter Frock! So glad the dinner went so well. Sounds like so many lovely things. So happy to hear. We went to an Easter Egg hunt and grilled burgers (which I didn't get to eat, but I brought my salad) and had dinner with pit bull who liked the carrots in my salad. She's a beautiful one year old. Although, I didn't completely trust her. There were some drama at the egg hunt too. But we survived. Thanks so much for your comments. You're are just going to have to catch up on Ellie..one day..and see what's up. All the best to your glucose and a beautiful AprilπŸŒˆπŸ’•πŸŒΈπŸ°

Oh, so lovely! So love the Easter tree. Looks like such a beautiful day..flowers included too. Such a lovely dress too! We did have a chilly Sunday. Damp at times. But still lots of conversation and visiting. I'm glad I didn't have to do the cooking since I worked Saturday at the library. Our Adult Reading program is going..and we had a flower arranging class last night. All the best to a lovely April full of wonderful things. Happy April!

What a lovely post full of Easter cuteness!!! First of all, I adore your outfit; it looks so festive and ladylike with the fascinator! Your Easter tree and Peeps chapsticks are so fun, and your mom's centerpiece is amazing. I've always admired your striking Italian beauty! πŸ’– Even though you couldn't enjoy the traditional ravioli, it sounds like it was still a memorable feast of goodies. Cheers to the world finally waking up from winter! πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›

I love all of your Easter decorations! So festive and fun. I remember when I was young, we always got an Easter bonnet despite being Jewish! I can still hear the Irving Berlin song , "Easter Parade" song by Bing Crosby about the Easter Bonnet! Sorry you had to curtail the carbohydrate foods for Easter but it sounds like your mom came through with a special meal for you to enjoy too. Happy Easter ( al little belated)
