Goodwill Spill: The Lion, the Ditch, and the Wardrobe

For those who heart clothes, a wardrobe is an endlessly magical place, a skeleton key to Narnia.  That's why it's so hard to part with the things in it.  But after putting it off, I finally sorted the clothes I want to ditch donate.  And as always, it was weird.  There were some things that had always been too big, others that had always been too small, and those that used to be just right but now cut off my circulation.  Like my beloved purple and turquoise skinny jeans:

I bought them at JCPenney more than a decade ago for less then twenty dollars each.  We spent many a happy casual Friday, mall crawl, and, yes, photo shoot together.  And now they'll start over with someone new.  Maybe they'll get to go places I never went.  Like Hollywood.  Or space.  Or Chipotle.

But whatever their journey, I know it'll rock.  And that their new owner will love them.  Because if I've learned anything from The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, then it's that these jeans will be perfect for someone.

You know.  A bargain bin boss with a barely there butt and a taste for candy-colored denim.

Oh, I loved Sisterhood of the traveling pants. Yes, it does make you wonder what sort of place your old clothes will go to..and who will be wearing them! Awesome post!

Oh, you are brave. So brave. I will sometimes, get them to the trunk of the car and then forget about them. Actually, I have a sewing machine to take, only I don't know what happen to the foot petal. Always something.

Oh..such memories.. Honestly, I could not tell you what happened to my favorite pair of jeans, but I know they would be the perfect Traveling Pants. Cause as I grew..possibly out of them..it was like magic..they would still fit and even made my but look good. You'd think I would have had them in a special place. Obviously, I did..I just can't find it anymore. Sigh.. Such a great post!

So great you can remember the fun you had in those jeans! So nice. Honestly, I almost bought jeans at Old Navy but then realized I wouldn't have anywhere to really go in them..sine I needed work pants instead. Naturally, they didn't have anything for short people. I have to order them online.

Thanks so much for your comments! Going RED to prom was always a bold move. Although, my last prom dress was emerald green. Let's hope Link can handle Izzy. Oddly, the faceclaim of Link is all over Pinterest, especially when he was probably barely a middle schooler. I didn't realize he is a British actor. Of course, it wasn't until I spotted our local high school soccer goalie in a new segment as "Star of the Week" that it donned on me..oh, he looks like "Link" add the fact that I saw him on his bike practically flying from the school last week while I was driving to work. Although, the goalie is a bit of a young Fabio prototype with the glorious head of hair (shoulder length).

Oh..and of course, other things might happen before Slater ever gets a chance to actually talk to Bishop again.

We did have a very cool weekend. Which I was in shock. Down in the 50's. Crazy weather we are having.

Kansas..Nebraska..they are right on the line. However, I live more in the four corner (Nebraska, Kansas/Iowa, Missouri) And don't get me started on which Kansas City is it? Although I have doubts I will be traveling the state or anywhere with these gas prices. It is definitely Staycation season! Oh, how I need to take some things to GOOD WILL too. We shall see. Besides..I have a wedding to write about...=)

Thanks again for being here! All the best to your blog and your inspiring creativity!

So good of you to donate. I'm sure the lucky person who gets the pants will be thankful for such a good find. Cheers!

I find it difficult to part with things that I love even when they do not fit. Sometimes I have purchased something just a tad too tight that I absolutely loved!!! Well they are now ever tighter and I have never worn them- but they sit in the spare closet and I still love to wish they will fit me soon... I just can't part with them. So, no sisterhood of traveling pants for my pants! They still are waiting for me to fit into them. Ok maybe you have inspired me to let go of them... and give them a new adventure.

"Maybe they'll get to go places I never went. Like Hollywood. Or space. Or Chipotle." LOL!!! What a colorful stash of clothing! It's always that mashup of too big/too small clothing items we tend to haul off to Goodwill. I'm sure your clothing will find a great new home somewhere!
