Watermelons always make me think of picnics, even now when there's a chill in the air. Fall, after all, is the perfect time to spread a blanket in front of your TV (or china dogs or real dogs or what have you) and chow down on something delicious you normally wouldn't. One of the best things about an indoor picnic is the absence of ants parading up and down your watermelon wedge (or maybe your Friendly's watermelon roll, as the real thing's now out of season). Another is not being stared at like a zoo attraction.
