Normally, I have little sympathy for Miss Tilly, Tinker's Cove's fussbudget of a former librarian in Leslie Meier's Lucy Stone series. But that changed when I read Birthday Party Murder, which puts Miss Tilly in danger of being bumped off just before her ninetieth birthday. Having just had a birthday, I appreciate the unfairness of such a situation. Furthermore, Miss Tilly's new penchant for wearing kids' sneakers that light up when she walks shows that even the staunchest of sticklers can know whimsy.
So Miss Tilly, my apologies. Way to outsmart that Hells Angel named Snake in time for your town-wide celebration. And to everyone else, this isn't a spoiler.
The guy that ended up getting knocked off was worm food before the party started.

It sounds cute, but I am really not a fan of fiction unless its historical. I much prefer non fiction and biographies.
You have to hand it to Miss Tilly. I have secretly long wanted to wear any kind of shoe that lights up when I walk, but I wouldn’t dare do it. I’m guessing that Miss Tilly has tiny feet that fit into such shoes, whereas my gun boats would hardly make it. Still, a girl can dream.
Sneakers that light up! And she's 90! Oh, it does look to be a fun mystery indeed. That Meier, she knows how to make it a page-turner! Thanks for making me smile this morning!ππππππThanks for your comments too. Oh, I had to keep Christine around for something...(●'◡'●)
This does look like a fun one! Thanks for the review! This author is the master of the cozy. Awesome to read about this one in the series!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Thanks for your comments. I have a friend who is a 911 dispatcher, when he is not online with someone..he's crocheting all sorts of critters. He never talked about crocheting, but it seems everyone wants what he's making now.
So great that you enjoy this author. So many mysteries of Meier in our library! Waiting to be enjoyed! Hope you keep celebrating your birthday all month!
Thanks for your sharing...
"Worm food" - LOL!!! I always enjoy seeing the clever book covers in this genre. What a perfect book to read during your birthday month! And I must say, I always wanted light up sneakers as a kid, and this totally reminded me of that. ππ
