Something New and Sparkly: Go Big or Go Home Over the Rainbow Corsage Necklace

Over the Rainbow Corsage Necklace

I knew that my day trip to New York would be an ideal opportunity to break out my "go big or go home" Over the Rainbow Corsage Necklace (more on the actual trip part later). You may remember that I listed five similar necklaces in my Etsy shop earlier in the summer. I sold two of them at craft fairs and was inspired to make more (Even as I post this, I have two more in the works.).

I created the Over the Rainbow Corsage Necklace by mounting silk and paper flowers and acrylic rhinestones on felt using fabric glue and Gem-tac, respectively. Next, I began beading the double-stranded necklace with glass beads interspersed with a few plastic ones. Then I stopped to attach the "corsage" by gluing it to a blank piece of felt, securing the naked wire in the middle of the felt "sandwich." Then, I continued beading and finished the necklace with a toggle clasp. Although it took a long time to create the corsage, it was a relatively easy and delightful project.

I can't wait to finish the others! (Once I do, the entire line will be available in a new section of my shop, Made to Order Jewelry).

Hi, Vicky! Thanks so much for checking out my blog, and for the compliment. To answer your question, I actually sold this necklace. But I have some other corsage necklaces in my shop (under Corsage Necklaces) if you're interested.
